The Clydesdale Breeders of the U.S.A.

The Clydesdale Breeders of the United States, incorporated in 1879, is the member organization for the Clydesdale horse and is open to all people interested in the well being and advancement of the breed. The purpose of the Association is to collect, revise, preserve, and publish the history and pedigrees of purebred Clydesdale horses. It is also responsible for all registrations and the transfer of ownership of all eligible horses within the United States. The Association sponsors national and regional horse shows, awarding special recognition to exhibitors of top quality U.S. bred stallions, mares, and geldings, in addition to the usual hitch and halter classes. A national sale is organized each year, offering the largest selection of Clydesdale horses for sale anywhere in North America. Held in conjunction with the National Sale are the Association’s Annual Meeting, a members banquet, educational seminars, and more. Currently serving 700 members, the Clydesdale Breeders of the U.S.A. registers over 500 new horses annually. Despite the growth in size, the membership is an active, well informed, extended family; extremely helpful to each other and the general public, and always supportive of and grateful to that magnificent creature – the CLYDESDALE HORSE.
